A long, long time ago, our friend asked us to make him a dining table. He wanted something stylish, but simple; something that would use little material, yet hide plenty of intriguing details. We knew straight away where to look for inspiration. Economic production, subtle aesthetic and universal form? It sounded like nothing but the polish design of the 60s. The only thing missing was a touch of geometrical boldness to create MACIEK – Tabanda's very dining table.
Above all, MACIEK is an economic design. Each table is cut from a single plywood sheet, creating almost no waste during the production process. Technical requirements have led us to inventing its entire form. Notice the way its supports overlap each other, implicitly intefering with table's symmetry. Observe how the outline of tabletop defies the dull rectangular shape. MACIEK is full of surprises, but it does not reveal it's secrets easily. And without any doubt – it is the modesty that makes it so universal.
For those who prefer curves, we've created ROUND MACIEK. Both shapes are available in two sizes and five different finishings.
